Pawsitive Connections
Pawsitive Connections is a program for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other disabilities. The program offers these children an opportunity to work with dogs in the sport of agility. As educators and community members, the volunteers realize the power of a positive relationship with an animal.
Participants are paired with a coach and dog. The coaches teach the children how to maneuver their canine partner through a variety of obstacles in a sequence.
The program offers BCBA support for participants by adapting the goals to each child’s needs.
Sessions are ongoing and meet twice per month.
